The workshop will take place at the Tanka Village resort, at about 1 km from the town of Villasimius.

Villasimius is located in south Sardinia, at 50 km from the Cagliari airport, about one hour driving time. Click here for a map of the surrounding area.


Buses Transfers from Cagliari to Conference Site

Transport from Cagliari airport to Tanka village has been organized by Alessandro for May 14, 2006. The (approximate) timeschedule is as follows (all May 14, 2006):

  • 23:20

The details of the transport back to the airport on May 21, 2006 will be communicated during the workshop.

A transportation for people arriving or leaving on days different from 14/21 is also foreseen during the working hours. So, for early departures on days different from May 21 or late arrivals on days different from May 14 transportation is not guaranteed. All the participants arriving / leaving on 'nonstandard' days will be contacted directly.

The bus ride from Cagliari airport to Villasimius takes about 1.5 hours.

Rooms

Rooms  have been reserved for the workshop at the price of 80 euro per person in double room in full board treatment. The single room supplement is 36 euro. Please do not contact the hotel. Participants are asked to communicate to the organizing committee the arrival and departure date and time. There is only a limited amount of rooms available so we urge everybody to share a room. Please download this form, complete it, and email it as attachment to hq2006@hq2006.bnl.gov with "HQ06 travel" as subject line. Please do so no later than March 31, 2006. Don't bother if you do not have all the information (e.g. flights etc.) available yet. What we need for now is information on your arrival & departure date, and especially the rooms.

Payment methods

While we are able to wave the conference fee for all participants you have to pay for the rooms yourself. Since we booked the rooms in one block you have to pay us, not the hotel. Since the hotel wants the money early we have to collect the room costs at the start of the conference. A secretary from INFN will be present on Sunday and half Monday. Payments can be done via credit card (VISA or Mastercard are accepted). We cannot accept checks and cash is not a great idea either (but works if all fails).

Travel

Booking of flights to Cagliari, ferries to Sardinia (if you come by car), etc is entirely up to you.

A bus service is foreseen for participants arriving on Sunday 14/5 afternoon at the Cagliari airport, and leaving from the hotel to the airport on Sunday 21/5.

Weather
