Hot Quark Stars: Features and Findings

Prashanth Jaikumar

Recent developments at RHIC have motivated concurrent research in the topic of strange quark stars, particularly the high density equation of state and surface microphysics. There are new and important results on the structure of such stars and their observational features, stemming directly from QCD microphysics that is accessible at RHIC. I will elucidate these aspects and review prospects of detecting strange matter in stars.
