The discovery of jet quenching in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions is one of the success stories of RHIC. However, the conversion of the experimental measurements into an understanding of the properties of the medium still remains a largely qualitative, rather than quantitative, process. I will discuss the current status of quenching measurements, with an eye towards future measurements that can place the interpretation of jet quenching onto a more quantitative footing.
